About This Place

Situated in the heart of Santa Clara, Ondam stands out as a premier destination for Korean cuisine that authentically captures the rich flavors and vibrant spirit of Korea. From the moment you step inside this cozy yet contemporary space, you’ll be welcomed by an inviting atmosphere where every detail—from the warm lighting to the attentive service—works together to create a memorable dining experience.

Ondam’s menu is a treasure trove of Korean culinary delights, boasting an impressive variety of dishes that cater to both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts alike. Dive into the colorful world of banchan, a tempting array of flavorful side dishes that perfectly complement each main course. Must-try specialties include the fiery yet balanced Spicy Pork Gimbap, the beautifully presented Ondam Chicken Platter, and the crispy, savory Seafood Pancake (해물파전) that teases the palate with its fresh ocean flavors.

Seafood lovers will find themselves indulging in dishes like the Seafood Tofu Salad and the comforting Seafood Kalguksu (해물칼국수)—a rich and hearty noodle soup brimming with tender morsels and a harmonious medley of textures. The culinary craftsmanship shines in traditional favorites such as the Beef Bulgogi and the robust Spicy Marinated Crab, each infused with layers of bold, authentic seasoning that linger delightfully long after the last bite.

For an immersive experience, Ondam offers several jeongol (hot pot) options that are pure soul food. The Bulgogi Jeongol combines tender beef with a colorful mix of fresh vegetables and clear noodles in a savory broth, creating a dish that feels both hearty and refined. Equally satisfying is the Algoni Jeongol, featuring pollack roe and fish intestines that deliver a profound umami depth. These generous portions, served with rice, invite shared enjoyment, making any meal here a communal celebration.

Many diners have praised Ondam’s perfectly seasoned kimchi, which some claim is the best they’ve tasted in the United States. This is no surprise given the kitchen’s evident dedication to authenticity and balancing boldness with subtlety in every fermented bite. The side orders, such as homemade rice varieties (Sot Bap) and Ssam (leaf wraps), enhance the overall meal by adding layers of texture and tradition.

Customer reviews consistently highlight not only the outstanding food quality but also the welcoming ambiance and thoughtful service. Diners describe feeling like family from the moment they enter, with staff whose warmth matches the depth of the dishes served. Whether enjoying a spicy bowl of Budae Jjigae (Army Stew) on a chilly day or relishing the delicate notes of Beef Tartare, visitors walk away with a deep appreciation for the care and passion infused into each plate.

Ondam’s commitment to a genuine Korean dining experience, coupled with its inviting atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff, makes it an essential stop for anyone seeking to explore Korean flavors beyond the ordinary. Whether you’re craving the comforting embrace of soft tofu stew (Sundubu Jjigae) or the robust zest of stir-fried spicy pork (제육볶음), Ondam will leave you impressed, satiated, and eager to return.

For a taste of Korea’s rich culinary heritage in the South Bay, Ondam truly delivers — a perfect blend of tradition, innovation, and heartfelt hospitality.

We had two Sotbaps (beef belly and abalone) and one Gimbap. Every dish was perfectly seasoned. Their kimchi was the best I've had at a restaurant in the US. Great service, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

I had an amazing experience at this Korean restaurant. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious — there wasn’t a single miss. The flavors were authentic and well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. On top of that, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great Korean food.

Really nice Korean place in South Bay! The vibe is great. The army stew was super tasty, full of flavor and perfect for a chilly day. Service was friendly and quick too. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

WOW ! This is hands-down the best Korean restaurant in the Bay Area – the food is genuinely mind-blowingly delicious. Every bite is packed with authentic, soul-warming flavors that make me want to come back every single week. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming; they treat you like family from the moment you step in. Every visit feels like a heartfelt, meticulously prepared meal – true Korean hospitality in every detail. If you're in the Bay, don’t hesitate – go now and enjoy. You’ll leave happy and full!

Visited the restaurant for dinner with colleagues for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Noticed the majority of the diners are non-Koreans, which is rare for any Korean restaurant, at least based on my personal experiences. The menu options are well thought out - something for everyone even if they are unfamiliar with K-food. Really liked how they served makgeolli, Korean unrefined rice wine in a traditional ceramic wares. Enjoyed their bossam and the various side dishes. Will return for more soon.

A local grownup recommended us this restaurant. We ordered three things. The squid is the best and then the bibimbap. The seafood pancake is normal. The service is great

We went on a Friday around 6pm. The restaurant was packed, a good sign the food is good. Parking was difficult in the complex probably due to martial arts class on the next door. We ended up parking in the residential street. Everything we ordered tasted great and better than other Korean restaurants we’ve been to. The staff were very nice. We were seated to a table without ipad. A staff took our order manually and we waited for our food for very long and have to follow up several times. Not sure if he forgot to place the order or wrote the wrong table. I will come back for the food but will pick a less crowded time.

Hard to find good Korean food outside of LA, but this spot on El Camino nails both the flavor and the vibe. Open late too! The grandma-like lady who served us was super kind and kept the side dishes coming. The spicy stir-fried squid was my favorite! Thumbs up!
